Help Network Kicks Off Hope In Motion Campaign!

EVENT DETAILS

Date: October 26, 2023

Time: 10:30 am

Location: Covelli Centre parking lot, downtown Youngstown

Help Network of Northeast Ohio administers and answers the 988 line in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties. “We want everyone to know they have the option of simply dialing 988 if they are facing a crisis or even considering suicide.” said Help Network CEO, Vince Brancaccio.

SIGNING SUPPORT/MOBILE MESSAGE

The kickoff event features the first public viewing of a giant display across the side of a WRTA bus. A space was set aside for signatures and event attendees can sign it to show their support. Attendees will be encouraged to take a selfie photo as they add their signatures to the giant display and share it on social media. A group photo of attendees will be taken near the bus and shared on social media.

The display and the WRTA bus will travel all over the Mahoning Valley carrying the message that 988 is the number to call when considering suicide or facing a crisis you can no longer handle alone.

“Awareness is the road that leads to prevention.” Said Vince Brancaccio, “Knowing that you can dial 988 for 24/7, free and confidential emotional support can make a huge difference.”

Brancaccio added, “If people in crisis are aware that just three numbers — 988 — will connect them to someone who cares, someone who can help — and most importantly— someone who can provide HOPE, we have a much better chance of helping that person and preventing a tragic ending. That’s what HOPE IN MOTION is all about.”

The Help Network Hope In Motion campaign is funded by a state grant and local supporters, including the Ross Griffin Memorial Foundation, Adsposure, and WRTA.
